Description
Summary:Aim: Our aim was to determine the demographic characteristics of patients, who underwent gastrointestinal endoscopy in a secondary level state hospital and to compare the results with the literature. Methods: We investigated and classified gastroduodenoscopy results, age, sex, complaints, clinical characteristics and type of anesthesia of 499 patients who were admitted to Sakarya Akyazi State Hospital Endoscopy unit between 2011 and 2012. Results: Most of the results of 499 patients included in this study were found to be compatible with the literature. Conclusion: It is obvious that gastroduodenoscopy will remain useful for many years in the diagnosis of lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract.
