It goes on to reason that a decaying public sector would give rise to inefficient private sector. Also, private sector has its own inherent contradictions as privatization in itself is not an antidote to corruption and mismanagement of which the public sector is being accused. The controversy and the contradictions in this topical issue aroused the interest and concern of this paper. The focus of the paper, therefore, is to present the two sides of the arguments on the viability of privatisation.
