Summary:<p>The idea according to which everything has been said on the malfunctions of the educational system is a widespread idea in France. But, the public administrations and the educational actors are unable to tackle a few educational fundamental questions as the ideal organization of the school paces, the effective democratization of the educational system or the reduction of the level of the pupils. This apparent difficulty to have a serene debate about the functioning of the school, drive us to resign the evaluation of the educational policies? The best way of answering to this question consists of analyzing the history of the evaluation of the educational policies from the seventies up to nowadays.</p>
