Description
Summary:The proof of democracy is in the city. This article analyses the representation of cities as seen by contemporary American photographer Eggleston, whose work is here approached in terms of four defining characteristics: signaletics, eccentricity, kineticity, and dialogality. The aim of this study is to define the link between these urban images and the concept of "democracy", a term applied by Eggleston himself to his 1989 album, The Democratic Forest.
