Although the subject has not featured widely in recent historiography, some works have provided new perspectives. In this article, we attempt to measure the extent to which the lived exile of these writers modified their relationship with God as servants. They ultimately demonstrate a simple faith grounded in a traditional piety. These priests believed that Providence had not left their side. Examples of its benevolence and protection appear frequently in their writings. The texts reveal that these acute moments provided the opportunity to experience the meaning of their vocation.http://journals.openedition.org/diasporas/225 |
