Summary:In this paper, the author analyzes the most recent trends in the evolution of the Gross Domestic Product for a panel of EU countries from the Eastern Europe, including Romania. The study pursues the evolution of the main indicator of the national economies, the dynamics of GDP per capita, and the components of the Gross Domestic Product, grouped according to the expenses method, all these factors seen as vectors of economic growth. The influence of the factors is also evaluated by multiple regressions. The situation of each country is discusses, together with crossborder comparisons.
