It is defined as that "period during the demographic transition in which the proportion of people of working age (potentially productive) grows in relation to people in potentially dependent ages" (Rodríguez, 2016). The purpose of this article is to analyze concisely the potential use of the demographic bonus in the process of development in Paraguay and draw attention to the need to reinforce efforts in priority areas based on concrete political will. To have an approximation of how one is investing in each of these basic needs of the population, three moments are taken (circa 2002, 2012 and 2017) and a review of the progress is made based on some outcome indicators, which should be reflect the actions carried out in each of these areas.http://scielo.iics.una.py/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2076-054X2018004700001&lng=es&nrm=iso&tlng=esdemographybonusParaguay
