In this work, I am going to occupy a certain sector of the work of Eduardo Acevedo Diaz, given its importance in the development of the historical novel, but I will do it through two novels (Brenda and Minés). These novels write the patriotic body of the nation in a sentimental and erotic key. The nation is represented as an ambiguous and eroticized female body by a voyeuristic perspective.
