Description
Summary:
in the nineteenth-century Uruguayan narrative there is a whole variety of texts forgotten by the canon that propose a different approach to the national question. In this work, I am going to occupy a certain sector of the work of Eduardo Acevedo Diaz, given its importance in the development of the historical novel, but I will do it through two novels (Brenda and Minés). These novels write the patriotic body of the nation in a sentimental and erotic key. The nation is represented as an ambiguous and eroticized female body by a voyeuristic perspective. As it will be seen, voyeurism is the politics of the pose that defines the foundational writing.
