Drawing upon the insights of the literature on alternative food networks and localized agro-food systems literature, an analytical framework is applied to a case study in Argentina. The main results point up the role of associative structures, together with the different dimensions of embeddedness in the development of the relocalization initiative. However, scaling-up could lead to a phase of disembeddedness and to a strengthening of a pure instrumental rationality.https://oajournals.fupress.net/index.php/sdt/article/view/8605alternative food networksfamily farmerscooperativesdairy industry
