| Summary: | The present study problematizes the forms of understanding the relationship health anddisease, through the placement of parentheses between the person and your morbidity. Toaccomplish that reflection, authors are used, like Laplantine, Canguilhem, Amarante. In themedicines centered in the disease, based on the model fisicalista, the parentheses are put in theperson, the care focus it is the disease and your manifestation (the symptoms). In that way, itwill fall to the doctor to give sense the those symptoms and to treat them. In the medicinescentered in the person, based on a model that considers the person as a whole, the parenthesesare put in the disease, soon theperson is taken as reference in your relationship with the socialbody. Like this, he/she starts to work with the focus in the health and with the possibility ofthat person's experience. It is ended that the perspective of " putting between parentheses "turns visible some know, provoking actions and reactions in what concerns taking care of thepeople, that can contribute to your constitutions in society, so that those can work with thevicissitudes of the life.
