Summary:The purpose of the article is to study and consider common problems of vocational orientation of entrants, to determine the main criteria for determining a person’s compliance with a particular area of activity, to develop a system that is used to organize and manage the career-oriented process. Research methods are methods of decision-making support theory, psychological methods of determining professional suitability. In the article the approaches to creation of systems of testing and analysis of the obtained results are considered in order to form a conclusion about the optimal conformity of a person to a certain profession. The novelty of the conducted research is the proposed approaches to the development of vocational testing system for the choice of profession oriented both for students who are facing the choice of future profession and for people who want to change the field of activity during life. The criteria for creating a testing system based on a comprehensive approach to determining both the psychological suitability of a particular profession and the ability to acquire certain professional knowledge and skills are defined. The conclusion of the research article is that the developed testing system is aimed at determining the professional abilities of applicants (interviewers), as well as to diagnose the professional orientation of school graduates who do not have work experience yet. It combines the analysis of the motivational sphere, personal qualities and intellectual abilities within the diagnostics of professional inclinations. The test itself consists of three blocks: the first block diagnoses the sphere of interests, the second block is aimed at determining levels of development of different abilities – factors of mental activity, and the third is focused on the identification of personal qualities. By the way, the test results in the distribution of students to profile classes.
