Nursing management of a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patient with gastroparesis

This paper summarized the nursing experience for a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patient with gastroparesis. Key points of care included: enhancing the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation and modified treatment and nursing plan according to the TCM syndrome differentiation; exploring proper diagnosis and treatment and further understanding the basic theory of TCM; focusing on the influencing of seven motions and enhancing the humanistic care and psychological intervention. The function of respiratory and digestive system of the patient was effectively improved after multidisciplinary treatment and nursing.
