Reducing Disaster Risk through Vulnerability Assessment: An Agricultural Perspective

A growing population, economic and environmental losses due to natural or human-made disasters, provides the need for a systematic approach to the management of risks. It is generally accepted that a multi-disciplinary understanding of disaster risk management is required.

He finally retired from the Department in 1998 as Chairman of the Agricultural Credit Board. Since then he has been working as a consultant for a number of Government Departments on various topics ranging from food security,agricultural financial development,insurance, disaster risk management and drought management.A growing population, economic and environmental losses due to natural or human-made disasters, provides the need for a systematic approach to the management of risks.
