It has achieved a surprising spread in a short time, due not only to its wide coverage but also to its intensity, and despite its small demographic and territorial base, for many years it has posed a serious problem for a country of two hundred million inhabitants. This study focuses on the first two decades of this nationalist movement, which witnessed its emergence and consolidation. | Con apenas tres décadas de existencia, el nacionalismo timorense llama poderosamente la atención entre los movimientos nacionalistas. En un corto plazo ha conseguido una difusión sorprendente, tanto por su amplitud como por su intensidad, llegando a constituir durante años (pese a su reducida base demográfica y territorial) un grave problema para un país con 200 millones de habitantes. El presente estudio se centra en sus dos primeras décadas, que fueron las de su aparición y consolidación. |
