Summary:Coffee drinking habits in Indonesian society has been done for generations. According to ordinary people, this habit is done to eliminate drowsiness. The frequency of drinking coffee per day is different. Some studies suggest that coffee causes lower risk of diabetes mellitus and gout, and lower blood uric acid levels. This is due to the presence of chlorogenic acid in the form of polyphenols in coffee. The substance is one of the antioxidants. In addition, in coffee also contains caffeine (1,3,7-trimethylxantine).   This study aims to determine the effect of coffee drinking habits with different frequencies to uric acid levels in men aged 45-65 years. Method. The study was cross-sectional with 45 samples for each light frequency (1-2 cups/day), moderate (2-4 cups per day), and weight (more than 4 cups per day). Information about coffee drinking habits is obtained by charging questioner. Examination of blood uric acid level by spectrophotometry by Uricase / Peroxidase method. The difference between blood uric acid levels among coffee drinkers with mild, moderate, and severe habits was tested by ANOVA test. If there is any substantial difference then it will be tested with a benforeNNI test. Results. The average uric acid levels of men aged 45-65 years who had heavy coffee drinking habits were 3.52 mg / dL, medium coffee drinking habits were 5.43 mg / dL and light coffee drinking habits were 7.28 mg / dL ( With 95% CI). The result of data analysis with ANOVA One Way got p-value (0,000) so that there is the influence of coffee drinking frequency to the uric acid level of a male age 45-65 years in Nusa Indah Subdistrict of Bengkulu City 2016. The result of Bonferroni further test all frequency of drinking coffee is real different. Coffee can lower uric acid levels in coffee drinkers because coffee contains polyphenols that can lower uric acid levels. Conclusion. Coffee drinking habits with different frequency in men aged 45-65 years in Nusa Indah Village Bengkulu City Year 2016 has a real effect on the level of uric acid. The habit of drinking coffee with a heavy frequency (more than 4 cups per day) can lower blood uric acid levels. Kata Kunci: Kadar Asam Urat Darah, Frekuensi Minum Kopi, Kebiasaan Konsumsi Kopi
