Summary:4,5-diamino-6-hydroxy-2-mercapto-pyrimidine (MPD) molecule was adsorbed at the copper surface via self-assembly method,and its corrosion inhibition performance in 3.5% (mass fraction) NaCl solution was investigated by electrochemical polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS),and Raman spectroscopy.The maximal inhibition efficiency of MPD reached 98.1% under the optimal assembly condition.Raman studies reveale that MPD molecules are adsorbed on the copper surface via N<sub>9</sub>-H<sub>10</sub> and S<sub>7</sub>-H<sub>8</sub>.
