Description
Summary:The study aimed to reveal and enable the exchanging of knowledge among Community Health Workers about cervical cancer. It is a qualitative study in the modality of action research, comprising the application of four phases: exploratory, principal, of action and of evaluation, carried out in September and October 2010. The subjects of the research were 15 Community Health Workers from two Basic Healthcare Centers in a municipality in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews whose results led to a diagnosis of the situation in which the contextualization of the issue was based. The results indicated the need to strengthen the participants’ knowledge through continuing education in an environment where everybody teaches and everybody learns through sharing knowledge.
