| Summary: | In this research, it is aimed to determine the awareness, interest in STEM career of YBO (The Regional Boarding Secondary Schools) students. Research has used exploratory sequential design from mixed research methods. The study group of the research consisted of 92 students in the 8th grade in YBO. Qualitative data of the study were collected through a document (questionnaire) and focus group interview. The qualitative data were analysed with descriptive and constant comparative analysis technique. Quantitative data were collected with "STEM Career Interest Survey" and analysed with descriptive statistical technique. The qualitative data of the research showed that a small number of students wanted to go to professions in the STEM field and quantitative data showed that students are interested in developing a career in STEM fields. |
