Summary: | The craft specialization in prehispanic societies is a subject that ultimately has awakened the interest of the scholars, in the sense that they begin to recognize the assets and direct participation of the craftsmen in the construction of prestige, power and status relationships in the complex societies. In this time we show the metalsmith case in the Mochica city, from the data that belong to Huacas de Moche site. The information obtained from this site and its comparing, as with contemporary sites as with information associated to other periods of the Peruvian prehistory, let us to approach this subject from perspectives such as technological evolution, constructive characteristics of the metal production areas and the social relationships generated from the political and ideological determining factors that surrounded the metallic objects production activities. |
