Summary: | This work brings together some of the recent approaches on social participation in public policies steps, considering them in its complexity of actors and elements. It evidences especially the stage of monitoring, whose potential for social participation has been little discussed in the analysis of public management in contemporary times. Reflections on the potential for social participation of monitoring systems, contemplating them in their entirety aspects and structures are presented. From different theoretical and practical benchmarks intended to establish here a succinct and relevant contribution to the field of public policies management, highlighting participation in support of democratic processes in the XXI century.
