Summary:<p><strong>Background</strong>: the complex epidemiological situation that exists worldwide, caused by COVID-19, results in changes in teaching processes.</p><p><strong>Objective</strong>: to elaborate theoretical-methodological considerations on the strengths of the medicine degree for the formation of the professional life project in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.</p><p><strong>Methods</strong>: a development research was carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguín, "Mariana Grajales Coello" Faculty of Medical Sciences, in the 2020-2021 academic year. The theoretical methods used were analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and functional structural systemic. The empirical methods applied were document review, survey and observation. The research was conducted in three phases. For the initial diagnosis, 126 teachers were surveyed. The criterion of 23 specialists was used to validate the theoretical-methodological considerations.</p><p><strong>Results</strong>: the main strengths of the medicine degree were identified for the formation of the professional life project. Theoretical-methodological considerations on the identified strengths were elaborated, which were assessed through the criterion of specialists. There was prevalence of indicators assessed as very adequate and quite adequate, in that order. No aspect was considered unsuitable or inappropriate.</p><p><strong>Conclusions</strong>: the theoretical-methodological considerations on the strengths of the medicine degree for the formation of the professional life project considering COVID-19 were elaborated and validated.</p>
