Summary: | The article discusses the orthopedic surgical treatment of osteochondrosis of the lumbar spine in elderly patients. The diagnosis of back pain is established on the basis of somatic, neurological, manual and orthopedic examinations, instrumental diagnostic methods are used when indicated. For back pain, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants are effective. One of the common causes of back pain is osteoporosis. In the case of osteoporosis, it is advisable to use preparations containing calcium and vitamin D. To prevent recurrence of back pain, it is recommended to avoid lifting significant weights and static overload, walking and therapeutic exercises are indicated.
