Description
Summary:Michel Foucault's connection of power and subjectivity has been an influential tool for analyzing and criticizing modern societies. However, there is reasonable doubt concerning the question if knowledge and power are still linked the way Foucault described it. Hasn't there been a major epistemological shift resulting from discourses formed by cybernetics? Has already a new "order of things" been implemented? In order to discuss these questions, the paper focuses on Jean Baudrillard's polemic 'Oublier Foucault' from 1977.
