The approaches’ features of modern historians of Ukraine to the study of the history of their country in the context of changes in the 2010s are considered. Materials and methods. The main research methods are chronological and comparative historical. With the help of the chronological method, the evolution of historians’ views on the content of historical events is determined. The comparative historical method makes it possible to understand the peculiarities of the historians’ approaches in assessing the events under study. Results. The points of view of Ukrainian historians on the problems of the methodology of historical research are investigated, the content of contradictions in the assessments of key events of the historical past is shown. Conclusions. In Ukrainian historical science, assessments that reflect the peculiarities of the formation of Ukrainian statehood are prevailing. This is manifested in the emergence of provisions reflecting political attitudes and the desire to get rid of the influence of traditions that bind the peoples of Russia and Ukraine.ukrainian historiographyussrrussiaukrainian ssrthe world war iihistorical politicshistorical memory |
