Description
Summary:This contribution offers a summary of a wide range of recent legislative measures concerning music education in Italian public schools, starting with the laws promulgated in 1999. The examination of the different norms for each type of school and grade level, from primary to upper secondary school, leads to some general reflections, some of which are technical in nature, about the idea of musical education as a result of the intervention of the State in matters of public education. A substantial portion of the essay is devoted to the analysis of the latest law on education (law 107 of 2015), which had a tremendous impact on Italian musical education.
