Summary:Tissue expansion is an emerging trend in the reconstruction of various defects of the human body when there is insufficient adjacent tissue for direct closure of the defect or repair with a local tissue transfer. It is the most important armamentarium for aesthetic hairbearing scalp reconstruction in cases of congenital or acquired defects.
