Summary: | The paper discuss the extractivist exploitation of iron in southeast Para that constitutes an important contribution to capitalist expansion and in the composition of Brazilian exports. At the same time recognizes that such expansion reverts into a prejudice process for Amazon forests, where huge areas become subject for destruction, including the means of life for the expropriated population, constituted of urban workers, peasants, and indigenous. Concludes that, although there is poverty and environmental destruction, ways resistance are articulated to establish conditions which are more favorable to workers in the constant motor of human history, the class struggle.
