Description
Summary:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still a prevalent gastrointestinal cancer. Liver transplantation (LT) is one of the main means in the comprehensive treatment of HCC because it radically removes the tumor. However, tumor recurrence and metastasis after LT remain the main obstacles to long-term survival. In recent years, substantial progress has been made in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC thanks to the technological improvement and experience accumulation worldwide. The HCC indications for LT, prediction of HCC recurrence and metastasis, perioperative management in LT, and comprehensive treatment of recurrent HCC after LT are reviewed.
