Description
Summary:This article focuses on the contemporary standards of money management through the prism of the financial education programs launched last fifteen years around the world. Those programs are becoming central in the protection of consumers of financial products’ policies. Having shown that the development of this theme is correlated to a massive transfer of socio-economic risks from communities to individuals, the article shows the role of behavioral economics in the consolidation of theoretical issues. It then examines the transformation of anthropological definition of target populations from the paternalistic policies of the 19th century to the contemporary autonomous and responsible individual. In doing so, it focuses on the possible contradictions of the very project to protect and educate an individual described as free and autonomous.
