| Summary: | This paper illustrates the results of the diagnostic analyses aimed at the knowledge and characterization of the plasters and paint on the main front of the Cathedral de la Asunción de León in Nicaragua, which since 2011 has been granted World Heritage status by UNESCO. In addition to a knowledge nature, the diagnostic campaign has set itself the goal of providing useful information to develop a proper conservation project capable of introducing a working method (based on the close relationship between architect, chemist, geologist and restorer) not yet widespread in a country like Nicaragua.
