Summary: | Humanization is an increasingly essential practice in different situations in human life, and can be adapted and adjusted as needed. From this, we have outlined as a objective: to analyze the strategies used to teach humanization in the nursing course. The methodology used was an integrative review of the literature, published between the years 1986 to 2016. The data collection was done through consultations in the databases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). The following Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) were used: nursing, education, humanization. Thus, the review sample consisted of 12 studies. The state of the art is mainly qualitative, with a domain of references based on humanization and teaching. However, it was concluded that the study identified that there is little discussion about the specificity of teaching focused on humanization, indicating gaps in knowledge in this field. Humanization is included in the various educational proposals, although not with this denomination, however, they reflect the meaning Of human care. In order to materialize these proposals, the suggestions are for renewal, revision of values, change of positions and teacher training.
