Intensifying climate change can increase the risk of political unrest and conflict in countries whose economic and social development is conditioned by free access to natural resources. The cause of conflict is never easy to determine because it is a set of different factors that interact with one another. A brief overview of conflicts in Africa with a particular focus on conflicts in Ethiopia and the region is presented.
