Description
Summary:In the past, in Ecuador many investments in aquaculture have been made without properly assessing the variables of production, markets and profitability, which could have avoided investments that at first appeared profitable, but that eventually turned out to have problems due to not having made a proper feasibility study of technical, economic and market conditions. Due to sustained growth of aquacul- ture exports and greater participation in productive activities in the country a need for an investment project has arisen. This work, besides serving this specific purpose, may also act as a guide for other potential investors who might be interested in similar projects by providing a tool that serves to meet its orientation towards these activities and as a source of study. In an effort to diversify non-traditional export products and encourage consumption it was decided to present a project within the aquaculture production, studying the native fish of the Ecuadorian Coast which possess the characteristics and prospects for development. The project should be undertaken in areas that meet the parameters of soil and water known as "Aquaculture Farms". This paper develops a study of the aquaculture potential of the district of Milagro to harness their resources in production and marketing projects.
