Description
Summary:How to harmonize historical experience and its representation? How to explain the past introducing a time dislocation? In order to explore these problems, I review in this article three historical works about diverse periods and countries produced in the course of the 20th century that have in common to study just one day. They are useful to stress historians’ ability to construct their own time analysis units that not depend entirely on “what actually happened”. Microhistorians have practiced such exercise deliberately, putting in front of the problem the observer’s position as well as the study of the cultural production logics of historical sources they analyze.
