Forests, nitrogen and albedo, a very interesting trio indeed

Description
Summary:A short comment is made on a recent paper (Ollinger et al. 2008) which shows that forest ecosystem carbon uptake in temperate and boreal forests is directly related to canopy nitrogen concentration and that both carbon uptake capacity and canopy nitrogen concentration are positively correlated with shortwave surface albedo measured with broad-band satellite sensors.
