Summary:The paper analyzes the features of modern society in the transition to the sixth technological structure that requires new state approaches to management, public finance, structure and development trends. It was determined that the states are facing the task of a more efficient, effective and full utilization of financial resources. The author of the article outlines the main features of the functioning of national economies in the context of global processes. In the author's opinion, these features include a changed structure of trade, an increased share of trade in services, an increased share of high-tech products in the world trade, a changed level of public spending on research and development work. The author draws the attention to the fact that a grouping asymmetry is observed in the current distribution of material-intensive and science-intensive products among countries of the world.
