Influência da capacidade empreendedora e da capacidade técnica sobre a competitividade

The present study analyzes the effects of entrepreneurial and technical capabilities on business competitiveness. We present a methodology created specifically for this purpose and show its application to a sample of firms belonging to a local garment production hub. The methodology, which can be replicated in other studies, leads to an empirical procedure based on the application of statistical techniques for data extraction from a sample of companies engaged in a specific economic activity. Appropriate indicators are created to represent the variables of interest. The results, which are discussed in the light of Competitive Strategy, show significant correlation between entrepreneurship and the competitiveness of a company, while technical capability only influences its competitiveness if it is aligned with the attributes of the company’s product that are valued by customers. This result raises a question that is currently of great interest: the alignment of strategies, a subject also discussed in the article.
