Description
Summary:Collective or Individual Ownership : Current Changes in Agricultural Land Practices in Senegal. The rural population's perception of their rights on lands is changing in Senegal and indicates a subtle move from community ownership to a search for individual security often confused with individual ownership in the sense of civil law. In the development of national land regimes, one should take into account these desires for real rights and meet them not in terms of all-out privatization, but in terms of land security and usufruct and guaranties of investments defining an equitable land regime.
