Summary: | In seeking to analyse the current structure of small businesses in the town of Milagro we considered those that have a maximum
of 10 people, whose activities are performed mostly in an empirical manner, in view of the low levels of academic training
amongst owners and workers. We proceeded to carry out a survey amongst a select data sample of data taken from the economic
census carried out by the Ecuadorian Institute of Statistics and Censuses in the year 2010; the questions were designed to understand the socio-economic position, level of academic training, and knowledge amongst owners of the new approach of the popular and solidarity-based economy, with the purpose of diagnosing the relevant mechanisms and proposing mechanisms
and strategies that contribute to the strengthening of both administrative and financial management, and contribute in this way to obtaining a higher level of income, enabling them to improve their profitability and quality of life.
